Responsibilities of Higher Education Students
- Academic Integrity:
Students must act with honesty and fairness in all academic work, avoiding plagiarism, misrepresentation, or falsification of any kind. - Attendance:
Students should attend all required learning activities (in-person or online) and be actively engaged in the learning process. - Submission:
Timely submission of work is expected, unless prior arrangements have been made for extensions or accommodations. - Respect:
Treating peers and faculty members with respect is fundamental. This includes respecting diverse viewpoints and maintaining professionalism. - Communication:
Regularly check and respond to institutional communications, such as emails, announcements, and other official channels like myHETI. - Collaboration:
Contributing constructively to group work and maintaining a collaborative attitude with teachers and classmates is important. - Equipment:
Ensuring access to the necessary technology (e.g., computer, internet) to engage in coursework and meet learning requirements is the student’s responsibility. - Policies:
Familiarizing oneself with the institution’s policies and procedures ensures students comply with academic, behavioural, and administrative guidelines.
Responsibilities of IBC Education
- Support for Students:
IBC Education offers comprehensive student support, including academic advising, counseling services, and assistance for students with disabilities or learning needs. - Academic and Research Integrity:
IBC Education will uphold high standards of academic integrity, ensuring ethical behaviour in both teaching and research activities. - Tuition Protection:
IBC Education will ensure students’ tuition fees are protected, especially if the institution fails to meet its obligations (e.g., course cancellation, closure).
