Dr Alan Roberts Chair, Board of Directors
Dr Alan Roberts has more than eighteen years of experience across senior academic leadership, professional education and institutional development in Australian higher education, complemented by extensive board and executive service across peak bodies and not-for-profit organisations.
He has held senior academic appointments including Director of a Centre for Professional Learning and Development at a major Queensland university, leading initiatives in teaching excellence, professional capability development and curriculum innovation. He has published in higher education, presented internationally and consulted to tertiary institutions on teaching quality and curriculum design.
Mr Nik Babovic Director, Board of Directors
Mr Nik Babovic has more than two decades of executive leadership across higher education and the vocational education and training (VET) sectors in Australia.
He currently serves as an Executive at TAFE Queensland, leading a portfolio spanning higher education, defence and the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation. As Institute Director of the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE, he led the merger of CQ TAFE with CQUniversity — resulting in Queensland’s first dual-sector university — and was appointed its inaugural Deputy Vice-Chancellor VET. He has also served as CEO of Careers Australia and of Jigsaw Training Group and Core Industry Training.
Mr Babovic holds a Bachelor of Education (Queensland University of Technology) and Graduate Diplomas in Strategic Leadership and Portfolio Management.
Ms Angela Allison, Director, Board of Directors
Angela Allison is an experienced senior executive and non-executive board member with key skills in the areas of governance, strategy, risk, financial management and business transformation.
Angela has Board and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee expertise in waste management, carers, information technology, migration, housing, health, education, arts, ageing and disability sectors.
Previous to her current role of General Manager City Services with the City of Marion, Angela held a number of strategic executive roles in corporate services, strategy, performance measurement, marketing, social housing, screen industry and state migration services.
Angela is a Certified Practicing Accountant and holds qualifications in accountancy, project management and company directors.
Prof Dipu Sebastian Independent Director, Board of Directors
Prof Dipu Sebastian has extensive executive leadership experience across academia and industry in Australia and internationally, with senior roles spanning dual-sector universities and public and private higher education providers.
His roles have included Executive Dean and Professor at Torrens University Australia, where he led academic operations, quality assurance, transnational education and institutional development, as well as higher education consulting and global student recruitment. He is committed to advancing access, equity and social inclusion through high-quality Australian education.
Mr Niketan Walia Founding Director, Board of Directors
Mr Niketan Walia is the founder of IBC Higher Education and serves on the Board of Directors as the shareholders’ representative.
He founded Durban International College in 2008 and continues to lead it as Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership the College has grown into an established Registered Training Organisation delivering vocational education to more than 10,000 international students, reflecting his long-term commitment to accessible, quality education and expertise in the international student market.
